MYCOFOUNDRY TAKES TOP HONOURS AT BPI CONNECT 2024

MycoFoundry was awarded the Best Showcase at BioProduct Institute’s (BPI) 2024 Connect Day, held at the University of British Columbia on December 6, 2024.

BPI Connect Day is an annual research event that brings together UBC researchers and governmental partners to celebrate sustainable research at BPI and highlight a collective vision for a circular future. 

Isobel McLean and Lorena Polovina, co-founders of MycoFoundry and members of the Accelerating Technology Readiness (ATR) program at BPI, presented the MycoFoundry platform at the Connect Day Showcase Competition. 

MycoFoundry’s showcase table at the event featured our mycelium-based materials,  including a prototype mycelium-based acoustic wall panel.

MycoFoundry received the Best Showcase Award after pitching in front of 200 attendees and answering questions from judges during the afternoon.

The award includes financial support for travel, supporting the company’s mission to create carbon-negative and completely biodegradable materials for the built environment.
